Patrice Rice has always been an entrepreneur.
Starting in the basement of her home, Patrice launched a hospitality recruiting company that eventually grew to more than 200 franchised locations across the United States and Canada. Long before remote work became common, Patrice was helping people reinvent themselves through business ownership, career coaching, and professional opportunities.
Entrepreneurship was never just business. It was personal.
Over the years, Patrice owned a pet store, rescued animals, and even raised two spider monkeys. That lifelong love of animals eventually led to the creation of her dream farm — a place built around family, animals, and outdoor living.
Then tragedy changed everything.
After losing an alpaca and a goat to brain worms transmitted by mosquitoes, Patrice became determined to find a safer, more natural way to protect both people and animals from mosquitoes and ticks. The search eventually led to a chemist who had developed one of the first all-natural pest control sprays made from essential oils.
That discovery became the foundation for Mosquito Sheriff.
Built from the heart and started on a farm, Mosquito Sheriff was created to offer families a more natural approach to mosquito and tick control while protecting the outdoor spaces they love most.
Along the way, Patrice also wrote the book The Job of Getting a Job, helping people pivot careers and rebuild their lives during and after COVID. That same passion for helping others now extends into Mosquito Captain Franchise Consulting, where Patrice works with aspiring entrepreneurs exploring franchise ownership and business opportunities.
