Mosquito Sheriff wasn’t created as a typical business venture — it grew from a personal journey filled with purpose, love, and unexpected loss.
After selling Patrice & Associates, a nationwide staffing franchise with more than 200 franchisees, I finally stepped into the retirement I had dreamed about. I bought a peaceful farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and filled it with alpacas, miniature horses, and goats. Life felt complete — quiet mornings, gentle animals, and the joy of finally slowing down.
Then everything changed.
My alpaca, Lilly, collapsed in my arms. Not long after, my goat Reese suffered the same tragic fate. Both died from brain worms — a deadly parasite transmitted by a mosquito.
Losing them was heartbreaking, and it opened my eyes to a truth most people never see:
mosquitoes don’t just bite — they endanger pets, livestock, wildlife, and families.
In that moment, I realized something had to change. Families needed a choice — a way to protect their loved ones without relying on harsh chemicals that harm the environment, pollinators, pets, and sometimes even people.
